关于Highlights of My Senior Year的课堂设计和反思

这一课时来自选修七第二模块,本模块的话题是My Senior Year。可以让学生先回忆下必修一第一模块My First Day at Senior High.通过复习,学生对描述学校生活方面已经积累了相关句型和表达,从而不难接受本篇文章。

本节课设计的是通过学习课文Highlights of my Senior Year,训练学生的阅读技能, 学习介绍美国学校生活。本节课语言简单,新单词不多,学生可以通过讨论解析本文,最后由学生介绍自己的高中生活。

    教学目标: 准确地读单词,能记住高频词汇:settle, competitive, suit, elect;运用新单词完成相关任务,例如复述课文,回答问题等。

    教学重点: 记住高频词汇;运用新单词完成相关任务

    教学难点:解读文章的细节并准确回答相关问题

Step 1. Lead-in

  Ask Ss to look at the information in the chart and the pictures on p15, and answer the following questions.

  1. What is the final year of senior high school called? 

  2. Would you like to have a school dance or party in your final year at school? Say why/ why not?

  设计意图:通过接近学生生活的话题讨论与回答,使学生尽快适应本课话题,激起学生学习兴趣。

Step 2 Reading for main idea

2. Decide where you would expect to see this passage. What helped you decide?

  设计意图:这些题目属于主旨大意题,这类题目是要求同学们总结全篇或某一段的大意。做此类题目时要注意文章的题目,文章每一段的段意,文章内容反复出现的字眼从而归纳文章的语言风格,考虑作者的写作目的,确定文章的出处。

  Step 5 Consolidation 当堂完成检测案,对文章以及语言知识进行检测。

第一部分:运用所学,完成句子。

第二部分:单项选择,重点检测likely,fun,settle用法。

第三部分:以填空形式复习课文,并根据小结复述课文。

在这堂课的第一部分,文章理解方面,学生经过一年多的学习,能够快速而准确地找到文章的主旨大意和获取更多的细节信息。但是,在深层次的理解文章和概括能力方面,还需要进一步的提高。语言知识学习这一部分,在导学案的帮助下,学生轻松地学习了本课重点单词和短语,分析了较长较难的句子,加深了对文章的理解,同时对重要的句型,语法进行了复习与巩固。学生能够在自主课上高质量完成,展示课上,重点是检查掌握情况和点拨重难点。可以采用听写,口头问题等多种形式在小组内比赛或不同小组之间比赛,既起到检查和督促的作用,也能充分体现在1121课堂模式下,一个班级中小组间合作与竞争。
